Update -Website Revision

E-mail Print

This website has been somewhat neglected lately due to a a serious lack of time due in part to the success of at least part of this website.  Hopefully, I can now devote some more time to catching up and performing much needed revision - and for all those people who call me continually offering advertising, cheaper phone calls and all manner of unnecessary business services - this is a voluntary enterprise that makes no money and doesn't have a budget for such things so please stop calling - I'm NOT interested!

The local advertising will remain although it will become secondary and up to individual businesses to keep me updated from now on. Adverts will be set to expire after a year unless the details are confirmed and no new advertising will be added unless requested unless I am satisfied that it should continue. Businesses requiring a seperate web page will be charged a nominal fee to cover the expense of hosting and maintaining the website.

My decision to change the format of the website is because believe it or not, the most popular section is the one covering legal matters, debt and civil liberties. Clearly there is a serious need for some practical help for lots of people, rather than the plethora of consumer blogs loaded with unhelpful comments from 'barrack room lawyers' whose advice is at best comical and at worst - counter productive.

For that reason I shall give that section more prominence and for all those people who have been in touch by email and by telephone, thank you for your feedback and all your helpful information. Your experiences have been helpful in making the proposed new website even more helpful in practical ways - or at least I hope so.

Debt Collector BullyFor anyone who who is seriously suffering from a burden of debt and losing sleep, feeling desperate or being harassed by debt collectors, there really is no need. There are no debtors prisons in the UK and nobody can do anything to you or your property without first going to court. Trust me I know this to be a fact and in 16 years of dealing with litigation cases, I have not yet lost a single one - and most of them didn't get past the court steps.

Watch the following video because debt collectors really are pathetic bullies and if you involve a third party, they quickly back off or go away completely because much of their activity is unlawful.  Stop losing sleep and start to deal withyour problems in a practical way or even completely get rid of them legitimately. If you live locally and if you're really desperate, contact me and I'll help you to do something about it.

Play the game by their rules - they hate that! How To Wind Up Debt Collectors!

The work is expected to take several weeks but the revised website should be completed by the end of March. Meanwhile, if you have any constructive comments or suggestions they will be very welcome - This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

North Soar Trails

E-mail Print

The North Soar area of Nottinghamshire is the area of Nottinghamshire to the South of the River Trent, bounded by the River Soar to the west and (for the purpose of an identifiable boundary) the Parishes along the A60 road to the east.

The area has been identified as having a significant tourist potential at the heart of the East Midlands, being located between the three cities of Nottingham, Leicester and Derby. The North Soar Trails Syndicate is a local organisation set up to promote tourism, and in order to ensure the viability of the project, has obtained funding to carry out a feasibility study to quantify the areas potential for tourism based on existing attractions and promoting walking, cycling and other trails in the area.

If you feel you have the qualifications and experience to undertake the feasibility study, can you respond to our Invitation To Tender and send your response to us as outlined.

Kick Boxing for Oldies - Yeah!

E-mail Print

Kick Boxing LogoAge is just a number, so they say, and in many ways it is.  Regardless of the age we happen to be, inside we seldom feel different or "older" than we were.  Of course there are signs of ageing and one of the signs for some people is when a narrow waist and a broad mind swap places, but for many of my generation, not much is allowed to slow us down and we are probably the "youngest" older generation in history.

This was the first tournament for all three fighters and despite initial nerves all fighters performed to the best of their ability and demonstrated excellent kickboxing skills.

East Leake Carnival 2009

E-mail Print

As in previous years, the fifth village carnival was well attended and extremely successful.  Living next door to one of the regular participants, I know something about the months of preparation involved in creating costumes, float decorations, buckets of papier-mache not to mention boards, staple guns and poster paints.

Happily the weather was much kinder this year than last, which meant that there were even more people to line the streets watching the parade.  It is reassuring to see so much of the community on occasions such as this and a huge vote of thanks and appreciation goes to all those who took part and especially those who helped to organise it.  There appeared to be fewer stalls but this might be due to the fact that inquiries from prospective stall holders were not answered.  Nevertheless there was a good showing.

There are some photographs available for viewing or download in the Photograph Gallery and I am always happy to supply high quality copies if anyone requires them providing they have a good reason for requiring them.  If you have any you'd like to share, please let me know or if you are a member, you should be able to upload them directly. Try to keep the size at or below 800 pixels on the longest side and send an email if you want to include some information.  Thank you.

East Leake Times

E-mail Print

East Leake TimesAlmost every day I hear from local (and not so local) businesses about advertising and of course I am happy to include any local businesses or community groups on this website.  However, this is no substitute for effective paid advertising and not everyone has access to the Internet.  Some people don't trust the Internet and others can't be bothered to surf for information so here's the simplest and most effective answer...

Right here in the village we have our very own monthly magazine, The East Leake Times, that is sustained largely by advertising but contains a wealth of other relevant infoirmation that is of interest to a wide variety of people, all of whom read it diligently.  That includes people who visit this website so don't rely entirely on the free advertising here because you'll be missing out on so much more impact - especially since it is also available online at the publisher's website (link below).
